San Felipe votes expected Friday as residents weigh a $60,000 bond to fund a night school building. The plan includes a levy to pay interest and create a sinking fund. Construction will relocate grades from two buildings to the new structure, with pupil counts rising from 1,700 to about 1,900.
The American Legion in Uw Chamber of Commerce hall reported strong attendance at the regular meeting. Three Val Verde Post members attended with two new arrivals from Wichita Falls Saltaman and David Blank. Plans for a Boy's Baseball League were not finalized while the swimming pool fund drive received high praise for progress. A Drum and Bugle Corps committee was formed and Dr James Long noted no local Gold Star Mothers or Pathers intend to join the French cemetery tour. The next meeting is set for April 24.

Piffy seven sheep and goat raisers met at the Hilton Hotel to form the Lone Star Wool Mohair Corporation of San Angelo, a cooperative marketing group aligned with the Federal Farm Board. They pledged a 1,506,000 pounds wool and mohair clip for delivery this season and elected EF Mayer as chairman with Roy Hudspeth J E Henderson as vice presidents and Gol Mayer as treasurer.

Pecos County awards a contract to L. J. Miles of Fort Worth for grade and drainage work on Highway 90 from Brewster to Terrell county lines. Bridges to be built by Austin Bridge Company at 31,940. The project aligns with improvements along the Old Spanish Trail through Pecos County.

The figure marks an increase of 2 000 900 acres from last year, attributed to a statewide campaign promoting farm diversification to fight the poverty of a one crop system.
A report from Texas on March 28 states that a 10,000 acre tract three miles west of Harlingen sold for 2,500,000 to a group of Chicago capitalists. It says one million dollars was paid in cash and that the buyers will build irrigation canals and highways to improve the land for subdivision and sale in small blocks.

Based on Del Rio Chamber of Commerce material, the lecture covered population growth, inland wool and mohair trade, rail and highway links, climate, churches, schools, clubs, banks, oil activity, tourism, new buildings, and scenic advantages. The talk aimed to deepen Texas knowledge among students, tied to the W. O. Connor citizenship trophy for best citizenship study distinction.
Fort Worth police said Fred Baumer a 35 year old Cotton Belt railroad employee took his life by jumping from a bridge his lunch hat and coat were found on the bridge and his body recovered from the Trinity River early today
