Tonight and Saturday will be partly warm with higher readings Saturday in most areas. Yesterday's high reached 83 and low 59, with 63 overnight. North regions stay warmer while the Southwest may see frost tonight. Saturday brings fair skies and warmer temperatures except for the Panhandle where cooler conditions may persist.
Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony Hauck Jr. pledged quick action to block a second stay for Bruno Hauptmann. The comment followed Arch W. Loney's prediction that a 30 day delay would allow further study of the Lindbergh kidnapping case.
In a sensational Trenton report Hauptmann was said to have altered his account of how he obtained the Lindbergh ransom money and to have bought the money. Attorney General Wilentz planned a Saturday statement on a second reprieve as warden Kimberling described Hauptmann as cheerful and certain of an escape next Tuesday, though some believed the governor’s remarks dim his chance for mercy.
Funeral services for Rickey Wells, 41, were conducted Thursday at Sacred Heart Church in San Angelo. Burial followed at Calvary Cemetery. Wells, born Henry Ochoa, took the name in youth and was longtime in the taxicab business. Surviving are his widow, four brothers and two sisters and his mother.
Grace Wick, a Portland candidate for mayor, announced a leap year platform promising a kiss for everyone in Portland. Her past protest included a scanties parade and a barrel ride through the business district to protest unemployment.

Medford Massachusetts March 27 Paul McCullough 52 a Brookline radio screen and stage comedian and member of Clark and McCullough died at Lawrence Memorial Hospital from wounds suffered Monday after slashing his throat wrists and arm with a razor in a Medford barber shop Police said he was subdued after a struggle and had been en route home from a hospital for a nervous breakdown Bobby Clark his partner and fellow Springfield Ohio native with the duo had teamed for about 30 years as one of the country’s oldest comedy teams
Yale sophomore William Sinkler Manning rode a cross country six day race from New Haven to Columbia finishing in four hours less than the allotted six days. He arrived here after covering about 600 miles and winning the bet set for the event.
Betty Albenese, 21, and fiance Alex Ead, 37, went to the Martinez county clerk to fix a license. Betty had paid $2 in January for a license issued to Betty and Leo Damos, 37. They paid another $2 for a new license and must wait three days to marry.
The first monthly meeting of Del Rio Scoutmasters and assistants was held at the Chamber of Commerce with Scout Executive Bob Billington. Attendees included Hilary Doran Rev. Roland Murray J H Knight John L Dodson Jr Conrad Smith Ralph Ross and Austin M Waller. They planned advancement records and Court of Honor procedures and agreed to monthly round table discussions. Five troops now operate in the area with two new groups at churches. The Val Verde District Committee met at 1 pm and the Court of Honor Committee at 3 pm to plan the first Court of Honor at the High School auditorium on Monday night April.
House members broke rules to raise money for the Everett Parker family, funds halted at $43 by Speaker Burns for a rule violation. Rep Dunn detailed the family’s plight, living in a 4 by 10 foot room with a three day old baby and no medical care, shell shocked father unable to find work.
A salvage crew at Ellenville New York recovered an unharmed gold watch and a purse containing $15 from the ruins of four downtown buildings destroyed by a March fire. The watch and chain were undamaged and the bills were only slightly scorched. The items belonged to a local merchant.
Lois Fellows and her husband, Cap Fellows, mourn a two month old daughter killed as their West Fourth Street residence burned Friday near 1 p m. The infant perished inside the searing flames after the mother and sister fled to call a neighbor. Firemen arrived as the house collapsed during rescue attempts and the body was found partially cremated. An inquest was held by Justice of the Peace J P Ader.
Edgar Measels son of Mr and Mrs E F Measels of Del Rio visited Del Rio Thursday afternoon after flying from San Antonio in an hour and 40 minutes. He is studying flying at St Mary's University in San Antonio and flew from Winburn Field meeting his parents at the Municipal Airport. He left San Antonio as a dust storm arose and flew by instruments.
Dallas March 27 Juvenile Officer Earl Parker reports in his annual findings that juvenile cases peak in August, citing fifteen year averages. He warns parents to supervise children during sweltering months, noting higher delinquencies in late summer. The text also includes fragmentary phrases about December and holiday sales.

Mrs Cornelia C Keller 69 widow of Charles R Keller died Friday morning at 8 30 in the home of her sister Mrs Lida Grimes in Lubbock. She had been ill only a short time and spent years in Del Rio visiting her children. Born September 23 1864 in Mississippi she came to Del Rio about 50 years ago. Funeral arrangements incomplete. Survivors include three children two sisters two brothers and six grandchildren.

In Los Angeles on March 27 a 21 year old was detained by naval shore police for inquiry after a sailor reported the youth was seen asking about gear for the United States fleet. The man allegedly sought details on gun replacements airplane equipment torpedoes and crew of newer warships.
Edward P. Arneson governor of Rotary District 47 attended the Del Rio Rotary meeting at the Roswell Hotel. He led members through the Four Lane Highway of Club Service Vocational Service International Service and Community Service and praised the club for its growth over the past year. He met with officers directors and committee chairmen after the session.
Two Del Ricans were involved in a car collision in San Antonio on Thursday when a heavy sedan owned by Mrs. Paul J. Poag hit a truck. Mrs Poag escaped injury while Mrs J Turney Terrell suffered a slight head injury. A fender was ripped from the Poag automobile.
