Miss Louise Anderson injured in a Brackettville High School car crash near Spofford on March 19 rests at Williams Sanitarium. She was unconscious until Sunday evening and is now partly conscious with a brain concussion. The accident involved two other Brackettville students. Anderson was thrown about 50 feet, with Evelyn Vincent also hurt and Margaret Speed spared serious injuries.
Del Rio motorists face slow enrollment as Tax Assessor-Collector Lyle S. Almond warns that registrations lag with April 2 deadline approaching. Only about 100 cars registered Monday, far short of the 250 daily capacity and well behind 1934 pace, prompting a call to license early to avoid last minute crowds.
Mrs. H. W. Doty of Sanderson displayed a rock carved to reveal a pastel landscape with sky mountains and water and cactus in Del Rio. She found the stone near Sanderson and plans to send it to Austin for analysis while noting similar finds from blasting in Arizona. Forrest Blackwell cited Arizona examples of comparable rocks.

The Texas House finally passed a bill to appropriate 10 million dollars for rural school aid and equalization in the next biennium, increasing the current appropriation by 4 million. The action was recorded in Austin on March 26.
In Dallas on March 26 a thousand gallons of milk were spilled as farmers protested low prices. They picketed roads to intercept deliveries and polluted milk cargoes with kerosene, reducing supply. deputies moved to quell trouble as farmers watched routes into the city.
Six year old Helen Frances Stewart, daughter of Mr and Mrs Lige Stewart, sustained a deep cut on her left hand when it was caught in the wringer of a home washing machine at 210 East Fifth Street. Nine stitches were needed to close the wound and she is reported doing very well.
Mrs Jim Cunningham of Can Can daughter of Mrs T A Wilson of this city was reported after Tuesday in a San Antonio hospital recuperating from a major operation. B E Wilson and Mrs T A Wilson went to San Antonio to be with her Sunday. Mrs Bulah Daniel a Del Rio sister has been in San Antonio with Mrs Cunningham for some time.
A Paris court ruled in favor of Geneva over the $100,000,000 inheritance of the Duke of Brunswick. Count de Civry loses after a 65 year case. the money had flowed to Geneva when no will was found after the Duke’s 1873 death.
Mrs J Autrey Walker of Del Rio and James House of Sanderson drove cars that collided at 12 30 PM at 13th Street and Avenue F. Several passengers were injured lightly or moderately, with Joe House 7 and Colby House 18 months among the most seriously hurt. The injured were taken to a hospital by ambulance.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church for 74 year old Ben Bendele with Rev. A J Tuillon officiating. Interment followed in Sacred Heart Cemetery under Doran Funeral Home direction. Mr Bendele died Sunday evening at his daughter’s home on North Loop Road after moving to Del Rio for medical treatment from his Juno country ranch where he had farmed for 54 years. He was born in Castroville and was a pioneer Texas peace officer and ranger who helped organize Val Verde County. He settled in June 1882 and married Vicente Tovar on December 12, 1895. Pallbearers included Julius Franks Sr E M Zuberbueler Joe Rembla Chris Qualia John Qualia and Frank Pingenot. Survivors: Vicente Bendele his widow four sons Herman Oscar Alfred and Benjamin and five daughters Emmett Chipman Oliver Calk Ella Nichols Jesse Crane and Bill Simmons.
Berlin March 26 Conferences between Hitler and Sir John Simon ended this afternoon with no definite indication of Hitler’s planned army size. A British Embassy spokesman said Hitler insisted rearmament is an accomplished fact and others must decide how to respond.
Paris reports prosecution urged acquittal for Mrs. Clara Bercowitz after American witnesses Switz and his wife testified she was not involved in the Soviet espionage plot.
Seventy Republican party members were arrested as police conducted raids believed to be a follow up to Saturday night shootings that wounded two policemen.
Funeral services for Mrs. Rutha L. Miles 65 longtime Del Rio resident were held in San Francisco on Tuesday. She died Sunday at her son Hugh M. Miles home. survivors include her mother Mrs. Harriet Frink San Diego her daughter Mrs. B Finch Peirce Del Rio a son Hugh M. Miles San Francisco a brother Nicholas B. Frink El Paso five sisters and eight grandchildren.
