Six people died and about 100 were seriously ill in Baca County Colorado after a Black Blizzard dust storm. Springfield Lamar Utleyville Elder and others suffered pneumonia like infections as dust piles up to six feet deep. Red Cross and state health authorities called for relief workers.

Pecan Street will be renamed Perry Street and extend to Lovers Lane with Duke Street connecting, including street rolling fire plugs and lights. John Perry noted as a founder of Del Rio.
Burglars looted the A. G. Edwards Insurance office at 500 South Main Street. value set at $110. Edwards found the loss Sunday morning, believing the burglary occurred Saturday night. Edwards had burglary insurance on the equipment. He quipped that the tailor and cobbler usually lack items, but the insurer carried insurance this time.
A total of 416 votes were cast Saturday to alter city boundaries and dissolve the water board. San Felipe tallied 130 for boundary changes and 3 against. 65 for dissolving the water board and 2 against. City Hall showed 215 for boundary changes and 127 against. 221 for elimination and 128 against. Overall, 286 voted for boundary changes with 130 opposed, and 236 supported eliminating the water board with 130 opposed.
Sharon Pa March 25 Mrs Jean Ondich of Farrell gave birth to a four-pound girl and, 36 hours later, twins weighing four pounds each. Dr E H Hagin took the mother to Buhl Hospital after the first birth where an X-ray showed the girl would have two brothers. Both boys and the mother were reported well. the father John Ondich is unemployed.
A tiny Austrian pine is planted 20 miles northeast of Mangum Oklahoma as the first of millions to form the Great Midwest shelter belt. Oklahoma forester G H Phillips, unit director Wilson Martin, Lincoln Neb assistant director Floyd Cossit, and Oklahoma assistant director Jesse Murrell attend the ceremony amid red Oklahoma soil and duststorm concerns.
San Felipe won the third annual interscholastic meet at Del Rio High School with 130 points, Langtry 115, Del Rio 55, and Pumpville 15. The event featured music by the San Felipe 26 piece orchestra, a one act play, declamations by winners Billie Weaver, Everett Luckie, Fortunato Guerra, Margarita Sanchez, Eva Herra, and a chorus contest in which Del Rio placed first, San Felipe second, and Langtry third. Roy M. Andrews delivered the welcome, with W. F. Jourdan and Ralph Ross assisting as secretary and official.
In Marked Tree Arkansas March 25 organizers of the Southern Tenant Farmers Union warned members to avoid Poinsett County while planning to press demands for federal action to prevent lynchings murders and other violence amid rising tensions.
Federal Judge James C. Wilson scheduled an April 1 hearing on an injunction to restrain prosecution of Garza County Sheriff W F Cato for murder arising from the February 7 Post slaying of Federal Narcotic Agent Spencer Stafford. The grand jury at Dallas had indicted Cato and others. The session dismissed a motion related to the Lubbock firm Bledsoe Crenshaw and Dupree.
N C Outlaw, Post attorney, to El Reno Federal reformatory to await action on a 15 month sentence for conspiracy and subordination of perjury. Judge Atwell announced the waiver of a bond hearing. Appeal action to come within 60 days by the Fifth Circuit at New Orleans.
Public Works Administration plans a routine investigation into alleged irregularities in Hidalgo County Water District No 7 Texas. Louis R Glavis director of investigations confirmed the order but offered no comment.
The report says Reichsfuehrer Hitler, meeting British envoys in closed doors, demands a strong German military including army navy and air force to defend Western Europe from a Bolshevik threat. In Geneva the League of Nations calls a special session for April 15 on France’s appeal against German remilitarization. In London Ramsay MacDonald states the Versailles treaty cannot be deemed denounced despite Germany’s armament repudiation.
