A Kerrville firm Schreiner Wool and Mohair Company sold 500000 pounds of spring mohair on Wednesday to Collins and Aikman. The sale was handled by Farm Board counterfeits and involved a large transaction at 22-32 for mohair.
Santa Fe proposes establishing a terminal at Del Rio with the removal of the S P Roundhouse as a key step. The plan reflects shifting conditions and aims to control freight costs. Mohair prices ranged at 22 cents for grown hair and 32 cents for kid hair after Lchreiner sold its first 500000 pounds and Wednesday’s sale cleared the state’s largest mohair accumulation.
Federal agents scoured border territory near Eagle Pass to capture the ring leader of a major Texas counterfeiting operation after the arrest of seven suspects in Victoria this month. The ring produced Mexican and American coins and moved counterfeit cash across the Rio Grande valley, with losses estimated in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Miser C Wakefield a 21 year old man who shot his young wife and then killed himself in Brownwood five days after their wedding. The bride Dorothy Bees Croft is 19. They wed in Via Acuna and wedding records show March 17 in Del Rio. No motive or notes left by Wakefield explain the fatal act.
Charles Kimble, about 60, prominent Douglas ranchman and oil investor with ties to Oklahoma, died in Kingsbury after a 10 day illness from pneumonia. He attended the Corpus Christi cattlemen’s convention, visited his Seguin sister, and was known to many Del Rio residents. Survivors include his wife and one child. he was brother in law to Mrs. J. R. Brotherton and uncle to Mrs. C. B. Wardlaw. Funeral services were planned for Thursday with the body shipped from Kingsbury.
An administration spokesman said the Farm Board will hold about 200 million bushels of wheat indefinitely and has no plan to unload the stock in any market that would depress prices.

The latest plan places Val Verde among El Paso Hudspeth Culbertson Reeves Loving Winkler Ector Midland Ward Crane Upton Jeff Davis Presidio Brewster Pecos Terrell Crockett Martin Andrews, while Val Verde residents favor the 15th district, which would include Uvalde Terrell Crockett Sutton Edwards and others.
The Texas House approved a bill by Rep. Sanders 103 to 18 to tax gas producers with a two and three quarters percent gross receipts levy. Estimated state revenue rises about $650,000. an attached plan to earmark funds for ad valorem tax relief was defeated.

The San Antonio Indians of the Texas League will play Marathon Oil Company’s City League club at Cowboy Park April 11 and 12. They are guaranteed 300 dollars for the weekend with profits to the Del Rio Fire Department relief fund. First-string Indians will appear and a 50 cent admission is set, signaling potential earnings beyond the guarantee. This marks the club’s first Del Rio appearance in years at Cowboy Park.
The C. B. Listner structure beside Dan's Place is being torn down as Del Rio contractor Carnell Hill clears about five feet of the former Daiches Jewelry store area. Hughes Franklin Inc plans a $150000 moving picture palace at Main and Lasella Streets on the R. and R. theatre lot. The owner resides out of town.
