Gillis named to Cattle Raisers Market Board at San Angelo

Judge Roger Gillis of Del Rio was appointed to the 35 member committee guiding the new Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association marketing group at the convention closing in San Angelo. Jail Sentence For Man Aiding Illegal Entry

A man identified as Jenus Martin, a resident of Eagle Pass, received a three day jail term after pleading guilty to aiding an illegal entry into the United States. The case related to an immigration incident at the Rio Grande near Back Past, where a woman crossed with two men. An immigration officer located the woman and a Mylar aid in a kitchen, while authorities pursued deportation proceedings against Jesus Benavides due to a technical indictment error.

Ranchman Fined After Collision

A local ranchman paid a fine of 56.70 in county court Thursday for a wreck in the citys southwest at 830 PM Wednesday. Officers said the defendant was intoxicated.
