Akron Ohio March 18 Harry E Renner 22 lost control of his motorcycle and swerved to meet an approaching car. He used a wide sweep of his arm to fling his bride Marie 20 from the rear seat. She slid fifty feet and was only lightly injured. Renner died at the scene.

Bruce Petermeyer twelve year old son of Dr A C Petermeyer suffered eye injuries when a cap pistol exploded while he tried to inspect the barrel at the family home on Lovers Lane. He was taken to Nix Hospital in San Antonio where doctors planned an operation at 2 pm Wednesday.

The Lone Star Construction Company of San Antonio will improve 3.8 miles of Highway No. 3 west of the Pecos. A contract of 129 795 dollars covers grading damage structures culverts and base and asphalt concrete from 22 miles east to 16 miles west of the Pecos. The Highway Commission also tabulated bids on emergency construction totaling 1 383 683 dollars.

Survived by husband, son Roy Henderson Jr., daughter Louise, sister Eula Montgomery, four brothers P L Childress Hugh Lee, and mother Mary Childress.
Lions Club annual ladies night banquet at the Roswell Hotel featured green and white decor and Irish ballads. Master of ceremonies Jas C Netts led a program with Lion Earl Wellbern on Lionism and Judge Brian Montague on St Patrick, plus Mozart serenade by a student string ensemble led by Mrs Herbert Beadle and songs by Annie Jones and Louise Turner. Two brothers separated for 18 years were arrested for drunkenness in Sherman while walking arm in arm to attend their father's funeral. Police placed them in the city jail, where they spent Sunday. city recorder J. D. Buster dismissed the charges the next day. One brother was from Jacksonville Florida and the other from California.
Representative Chas L South of Coleman denounces a proposed excise tax on livestock products in a new tax bill. He argues that higher feed production under AAA increases livestock output and that taxing the industry would harm the livestock market and be unfair.
Colonel T. T. Torr military attaché to the British embassy in Washington and Mrs Torr visited Del Rio on Tuesday while en route from Hawaii to Col Torr's headquarters. Torr holds top posts in the British army and has been connected with the Washington post for 18 months.
Nacogdoches March 18 G Ellis Gaston 50 a Dallas salesman was pulled unconscious from his blazing car after a head on collision with a truck five miles south of town. He suffered a skull fracture and first degree burns to face and neck.
Federal District Court completed spring term with multiple immigration and tariff cases. Defendants Agustin Dominguez, Luis Dovalina, Cristobal Hernandez, Flavio Morales, Juan Saucedo, and others received varying terms from six months to two years, many with five year out of United States suspensions. Several sentences include remaining out of the United States except for witness duties. some cases were suspended on usual conditions. The session adjourned with detachments scheduled for San Antonio.
