Twenty three indictments were returned by the grand jury in federal court on liquor and immigration violations. Blooded Herefords On Val Verde Ranch
Ten purebred Hereford bulls, two years old this fall, were distributed over the Whitehead and Wardlaw ranches Wednesday. The bulls, received Tuesday from the Painter interests in Colorado, are regarded as among the finest in Texas and possibly the best herd ever brought to Val Verde County. They cost $285 per head, said C. B. Dutch Wardlaw.

Pioneer Del Rio resident plays safecracker in federal building

Mitchell Murder Probe Rests With Gonzales County
Gonzales County authorities hold the ongoing murder inquiry into J C Mitchell, a 28 year old Villa Acuna bartender found dead beside the Old Spanish Trail near Gonzales. Val Verde County officers said they have exhausted leads and transfer responsibility to Gonzales County for further investigation. Mitchell wed at the Graf Hotel in Del Rio and was last seen with about 1000 dollars in a money belt. his body was found with 47 cents on his person.

The National Wool Marketing Corporation known as the show window the Federal Farm Board has fallen from favor in West Texas because of its low mohair advances and is threatened by desertion of wool as well as mohair men. The board limited mohair advances to 15 cents for adult and 5 cents for kid hair, causing sales to Eastern dealers and panics among growers. Many producers will sell wool through five co operatives in the state while mohair men abandon the cooperative in large numbers, prompting renewed criticism and investigation.

Two Dead and Ten Missing in Hotel Fire in Lynn
A hotel fire in Lynn Massachusetts left two guests dead ten missing and five hospitalized. Firemen found two bodies burned beyond recognition as the blaze spread quickly trapping many on the upper floors.
