Survived by widow eight children including Mrs Ed Smith and Mrs Buck Bishop and two sons Tom and L Ko Henderson Jr. Buried in Rocksprings Cemetery.
Governor James V. Allred appointed Patrick D Moreland of Kaufman as the labor representative on the unemployment compensation commission replacing Wallace Reilly of Dallas whose confirmation was refused. Moreland, a longtime Dallas Carpenters Union member since 1914, will earn 5000 dollars annually. Allred also named Dero D Cowley of Hillsboro as his first secretary, succeeding Moreland. Cowley previously served as a state representative.
Funeral services for John Roland Jack Shelton 42 a railroad engineer were held at Doran Chapel with Rev Herbert Markley presiding. Interment followed in Westlawn Cemetery under Doran Funeral Home supervision. The Masonic Lodge led grave services. Shelton died Tuesday in a Houston hospital of pneumonia after months of illness. He worked for the Southern Pacific Railway since 1912 and was born December 17 1894. Survivors include his widow four children two in Del Rio and a brother in San Antonio. He and his family had lived in Del Rio briefly as a boy.
London March 17 Funeral services for Sir Austen Chamberlain British statesman who died yesterday will be held Friday at noon in Westminster Abbey. He was 73 and a key figure in the Locarno era, former chancellor of the exchequer, foreign secretary, India secretary and wartime cabinet member. He died after a brief illness. survived by his widow Ivy Manuel Dunia and three children.
A 14,000 acre Anacacho ranch in Brackettville is sold to Louis L Parr of Tom Green County. Possession will be delivered several months hence.

In Kerrville on March 17, 150000 pounds of Spring mohair were sold to Tom Richey for A W Hill iard & Co Boston. The lot brought 68 cents a pound for grown hair and 78 cents for kid hair, the highest prices here since 1926. Schreiner Wood and Mohair Commission Co. said about 150000 more pounds were expected to be sold this Spring as contracts ranged from 55 to 63 cents for grown hair. Receipts this season, including contracted hair, will reach about 300000 pounds.

Stefani Vacanti, 60, told police he stabbed his housekeeper Georgiana Langhette after claiming he was tired of cooking for six dogs. He also injured himself as officers took him to Charity Hospital in New Orleans. Langhette is in critical condition with multiple knife wounds. she denied beating him.

Bel Paso reports that Sheriff Jess Horm of Deming New Mexico said he would file murder charges against two brothers in the slaying of 54 year old Robert Aubuchon a Deming campground employee. Aubuchon was abducted Thursday night and found with two head wounds in lava beds 40 miles west of El Paso after a suspect and his wife and brother led officers to the site. The men believed Aubuchon was wealthy and sought a ransom.
