Revision of tariff on wool lowers duty for short wools used in felt hat bodies. Del Rio wool men note demand rising as Washington announcements cut the duty to four cents a pound plus 55 percent, reducing price while boosting consumption.

Dallas report quotes attorney George Clften Edward warning that any Communist parade or demonstration in the Ku Klux influenced town could trigger arrests incidents and deaths. He says Hurst and Coder promised to return to Dallas to testify and celebrate with a massive Communist parade.
The Keagle Pass Grand Jury began its session Monday in Eagle Pass with Judge Josph Jones, Julian La Crosse and Mrs Belle Sutherland present. District attorney Listriet and court stenographer Sutherland were in attendance as little work was anticipated for the term following the Del Rio party’s departure.
Three 18 year old Howard Lake youths were committed to be returned to Belton Texas on murder charges in the Will Sanderford case at a fling station near Little River. They were arrested at Buffalo Minnesota.
A coal block mined 20 feet underground by a stripper machine in Linton Indiana bore the numbers 3 0 8 and X in two visible rows. Clint Ramer living nearby found the markings and no origin for the numerals is known.
Warrants filed for Jack Terry, owner of a Del Rio area filling station and restaurant, as Sheriff Whistler hunted a suspect in the case. Terry, shot in the legs during a nearby affray, was last heard from in San Antonio. Mitchell murder theory hinges on accounts from Del Rio area residents.

Chicago March 17 The second session of jury selection in the Alfred Lingle murder trial opened with Leo V. Brothers charged with the reporter's murder as guarded and mysterious as when captured last winter. No line of prosecution has been provided. Lingle, a Chicago Tribune reporter, is alleged to have been targeted by gangsters for his underworld reporting.
Baltimore Louisville Portland Ore Providence and San Antonio lead the third annual traffic safety contest by the National Safety Council. The contest runs from September 1, 1930, to August 31, 1931.
Albert Olivera Joan M Brazil and Edwin Bitteen were bound over for trial after a Del Rio car theft Sunday afternoon. The Ford coupe owned by Drury Wood was stolen near the Presbyterian Church. Officers found two guns in the car. Bond fixed at 500 each. they remain jailed until April district court session. Martini Villareal faces separate $500 bond for furniture theft from Ignacio Talments' home.
McCamey and Rankin citizens clash over moving Upton County Courthouse from Rankin to McCamey. McCamey argues 50 percent of county population lives there and seeks a bond election for a new courthouse, while Rankin cites a two year old vote and law restricting elections to once every five years. A petition with over 200 names urged Judge Maburn Harris to call an election within 60 days. Harris has taken no action.
The 23rd Custom District reported January exports through the Del Rio port totaled 41 188 while imports for the same period were 1339. The district covers Browns ville Eagle Pass Del Rio Laredo Hidalgo Roma and Rio Grande City.
