A court fight surfaces as J. E. White seeks an injunction against a large Maverick irrigation plan in Kinney County. The incident report notes a wreck near Del Rio with Blakeney injured and transported to a hospital, details incomplete due to damaged text.
A petition filed in Abe Kinney County District Court seeks a temporary injunction to stop Maverick County Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 from entering or occupying Kinney County land. The action targets land including the Gelielt Moore irrigated Farms, with a first hearing set for Brackettville Saturday.

SHREVEPORT Mar 17 Officers here identified the slayer of Bruce Payne 22 and expected to arrest soon. Payne body found Sunday with a bullet wound to the head from a small caliber gun. Evidence tied the killer to an attempted holdup of occupants in a parked automobile.
The federal court convened in Del Rio for Judge Thimal West's March session with jury picks underway. Twenty eight prisoners in Facile Pass await transfer to Del Rio for trial. a grand jury includes C B Ballantyne Brackettville and C A Chastang Del Rio among others.
Chane Cantu of Ozona was shot in the back while returning home on Saturday night after a gunman ambushed him in darkness. A pool hall owner, Sant Barrivas, about 35, was arrested but released on bond in connection with the shooting and a related dispute.
The Austin report argues Governor Moody could run for a second term driven by legislative dynamics. It cites broad Texan support for a reform platform including a legislature free of lobby influence a fair tax system and ending waste in the prison and financial systems.
Priscilla Price, 13 months, swallowed two morphine tablets at Jim York Ranch Saturday. Found chewing capsules, doctor advised antidote by phone, baby rushed to town and responded to treatment. She is daughter of Mr and Mrs Ralph Price.

Sealed bids for double bituminous surface treatment on highway 30 from Sonora to the Edwards County line 23.3 miles will be opened in Austin. The state highway department may designate a Sonora to Rocksprings route and counties Sutton and Edwards plan to vote bonds to fund a hard surface road to Crockett County line and beyond. Edwards County ranchers see Sonora as a key shipping point and value a good road highly.
At Chamber of Commerce in Del Rio at 8 p m Monday a Twilight League gathering will discuss forming a city league with six amateur clubs represented. Attendees will review player lists schedules and other details. In Hastings England 13 year old Ethel Morin was swept from a pier by a high wave but rescued with a fishing net.
Frausto, reportedly drunk, accepted a ride from a group of soldiers from Fort Clark. They stripped him of clothing and shoes, knocked him, then shoved him from the car. Frausto walked to the sheriff's department reporting minor injuries and a wanted pursuit by Val Verde and Kinney officers. The case led to Sheriff Whistler patrolling toward Brackettville as investigators watched the bridge area.
A special train second section of train No 4 passed Del Rio at 11 40 Sunday carrying three or four coaches with aliens bound for deportation. Immigration officers aboard as it picked up European aliens en route to New Orleans. From New Orleans the train heads east to ships in New York for deportation with Orientals destined for Pacific ports on a later westward trip.

Murder charges filed against Hoy James in the hammer slaying of Mrs. Pearl Voss. A hammer and stained cloth were found at the suspect's home. the woman’s body was found in a pasture nearby with head injuries. James denied seeing her this past weekend.
The Texas highway commission opened bids on road projects exceeding 3 million dollars today and tomorrow. Readily listed were 12 miles on highway 3 at Pecos, 11 miles on highway 4 in Runnels, a concrete bridge on Colorado River, 13 miles on highway 5 from Sherman to Fannin, 4 miles on highway 6 in Grayson, a Liano River bridge on highway 9 in Mason, 16 miles of concrete paving on highway 23 from Throckmorton to Shackelford, 9 miles on highway 9 in Navarro, 15 miles on highway 43 in Leon, age 33 in Crosby County, 14 miles on highway 67 A in Throckmorton, and 23 miles on highway 99 in Upton. Bids on 28 more projects ready for tomorrow include Del Rio-Sonora paving and Crockett County work.
Mrs. C. H. Mullen and her baby were treated for cuts and bruises after a wet road caused a car driven by Mr. Mullen to skid and overturn in Carrizo Springs. Mar. Mullen was unharmed.
Alpine ranchman T. Biniegey, 75, collapsed and died suddenly on the floor at Paul Jones Square dance. He was dancing with a partner when he fell. Physicians did not give a cause of death. Heettia and Emison were among his mourners.
