Peter Jungman Aged 67 dies in an Austin hospital Tuesday night. He was a longtime Southern Pacific Railway agent at Hondo for 38 years and first cousin of Judge Joseph Jones of Del Rio. Survived by widow Sophie Jungman of Hondo two sons Arthur of Victoria and Frank of Houston one sister Annie Bold of Devine three brothers Fred of Castroville Alex of Lacoste and Seraphine A Jungman county clerk at Hondo.
Three insurgent columns report capturing over 100 square miles of Guadalajara sector and approaching within 30 miles of Madrid. They say they wiped out a battalion, forced several government units to flee, and took seven villages along the Madrid Zaragoza highway amid renewed bombardment of Madrid.
Claudia Jones wife of Gladstone N Jones of Waynesboro Mississippi and daughter of Mrs Eppie Chalk of Del Rio died Thursday morning in Waynesboro. Funeral services planned for Friday at 4 30 p m in Macon with interment in the family cemetery. She was reared in Del Rio and educated at Del Rio High School the State Teachers College Hattiesburg and a business college. Surviving are her husband her mother a brother three aunts and an uncle.
Secretary Hull directed Ambassador William Dod in Berlin to press the German Foreign Office for responses to recent German press articles about the United States. New York Mayor La Guardia’s remarks about Adolf Hitler drew sharp criticism in Germany.
A coroner's jury in Los Angeles heard that George Daley, a war veteran and film extra, died during a battle scene in a new movie. The accident occurred as the sequence unfolded, casting a somber note over the production.

At Washington March 11 CIO debates expelling rebel unions and aligning with AFL via steel automobile and petroleum campaigns.
Secretary Roper urged a coordinated tri party effort among business labor and agriculture to address wages hours child labor and production control. He proposed regional council conferences and a general welfare meeting to forge a formula easing maladjustments and deepen interwoven studies across sectors.

Big Spring resident Jack Martin describes crawling into dens to extract rattlesnakes. He uses poles and hooks to remove or restrain snakes and can harvest up to 30 from a single den. He notes rattlers inhabit mountainous and salt flat regions and has avoided serious bites despite venom exposure.

A fifth District Court jury in Concho County found Frank Barfield guilty of sheep theft. He was sentenced to four years in the penitentiary. Defense attorney Robert P. Brown filed a motion for a new trial with a hearing set for Thursday. Barfield remained in Ballinger.
