Taft Funeral in Arlington for Ewell Seitz
Funeral services for Ewell Cor Seitz 32 were held in Arlington as the nation honors the former president and justice. Seitz born Hickory North Carolina resided near De Rio for 17 years and was married to Myrtle Budd in January 1915. He owned a ranch northeast of town and died after years of poor health. He is survived by his widow mother and siblings. Pallbearers included C B Wardaw EF Young Arthur Fran Jnc Y Long and others. The body lay in state at the Capitol before burial at Arlington National Cemetery as Congress and the Supreme Court adjourn in mourning.

SAN ANTONIO March 10 Joe Hobrecht one of five indicted for the slaying of Charles Stevens a prohibition officer last September was found guilty by a jury today Hobrecht was sentenced to seven years in the State penitentiary after 40 hours of jury deliberation.

Hoodlums Attack Texas Girl in Oklahoma Woods
United Press reports Leona Bosley and her escort Chad Thurman were hijacked last night and taken to a shack near Duncan Oklahoma. Bosley was shot and severely mistreated. Crash With Cow Initiates Local Club's Airplane
Del Rio Aviation Club plane damaged Sunday near Sterling City after colliding with a cow during landing. The incident affected the lower wing. injuries to the cow unknown. Former Del Rio Officer Injured In Jail Escape
Three Coleman County jail inmates escaped after injuring Deputy Sheriff R W Sumrall who had entered the cell to feed them. The trio Davis Trammell Jeff Riodan and Shorty Burns fled as Sumrall fought back bleeding from wounds. Mrs Sumrall fired at the escapees but it is unknown if the shot hit. West Texas officers pursue suspects believed to have cut fingers during the brawl. Sheriff Frank Mills was away and Deputy Orches was not present.

State Highway Cops Take Up Del Rio Patrol Duties
H. Foreman and M. Brant, state highway patrolmen, are deployed in Del Rio territory with headquarters there. They joined Saturday duties, investigated a wreck 71 miles from Del Rio, under Lieut. S. O. Hamm. The 51 motorcycle officers patrol highways under an act of the legislature, mounted on Harley Davidson bikes with first aid kits sirens and fire extinguishers. They enforce all highway laws including a 45 mile per hour limit. Their blue gray uniforms bear the motto Service Courtesy and Protection.

The Del Rio Midget Golf Course will be built on the corner property of the First Methodist Church at Pecan and Greenwood. Harry Keyes expects completion in about two weeks. The 18 hole course covers about 100 by 150 feet and will be lighted for night play with a green and orange scheme and artificial hazards. Players use a putter rather than a mashie and driver. Bond Furnished In Liquor Haul Case
