Funeral for V. J. Turney in Del Rio and Sonora rites
Funeral services for 69 year old V. J. Turney were held in Del Rio with the Rev. B N Briggs officiating. After the service the body was taken to Sonora for burial with additional rites at the First Baptist Church there. Survivors include his widow two daughters a son a sister and six grandchildren. He had long ranching ties in Texas and was a member of several cattle and sheep associations.

Cooksey Taken To Penitentiary After Forgery Conviction

Funeral Services Held Saturday For William Milburn
Funeral rites for William Cyril Milburn aged 40 were held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Doran Chapel with Rev H Conger Jones of St James Episcopal officiating. Interment followed at Westlawn Cemetery. Milburn died early Thursday of heart disease after five years in Del Rio with his father running a Broad Way furniture store. Quemado Man Fined $50 for Assault on School Principal
In Eagle Pass on March 9 a jury found John L. Howlett guilty of intimidating Y. C. Wilbern principal of Quemado Valley School. County Judge W. A. Fitch fined Howlett $50, paid by the defendant. Six Quemado Valley teachers testified about the confrontation when Howlett arrived with Wilbern from Eagle Pass.
