Chicago reports that Dr Alice Wynekoop may know her fate tonight after closing arguments and defense rebuttal. The state has labeled her a cold blooded murderess over the death of Rheta Wynekoop. She appeared weak and emaciated as the trial neared its end.

Patton leaped into a taxicab trying to flee but was pursued by two officers who mortally wounded him in the exchange.
Political observers predict a small turnover in the Texas Senate next Legislature though four of 15 terms ending will not seek re election. Sixteen of 31 members have two years left. several incumbents aim for higher offices including lieutenant governor and attorney general.
A silver half dollar dating 1858, likely once set in the Baylor University Independence cornerstone, was recovered by Herman Weishahn of Brenham after the old main building was wrecked. The coin is aged and blackened. no other cornerstone articles were found.
Fourteen men from the Re-Employment Agency finished digging trenches for the State Highway Department division office in Gibbs Street. The two story office and adjoining warehouse, planned by FE Carlyle Smith and J E Walker, will cost about 24000 dollars with 8000 provided by the Public Works Administration.

Police traced Dil linger near Crown Point jail and reported a chase on Saturday. Harry Pierpont, associate of Dillinger, faced trial in Lima Ohio for the sheriff murder tied to the jail breakout last October.

The west bridge of the two under construction at Sycamore Creek 12 miles east of Del Rio on Highway 3 is near finished with three deck girders needed and one deck concrete poured. The 598 foot west span joins a 460 foot east bridge as L A Turner builds a 1058 foot crossing costing about 100000 dollars. Turner employs 85 workers from Kinney and Val Verde counties via re employment offices.

J P Morgan unloaded 4500 shares of United Aircraft common stock on the New York Stock Exchange before cancellation of all domestic air mail contracts.
