She used a slab of liver and an ironing board to capture the lion ending a two week ordeal that baffled Valentine and neighbors.
Mrs William Dalton reportedly revived eight dead pigs by dipping them in warm water then running cold water over them. Her husband found nine piglets in a barn with only one breathing. after the treatment all eight revived immediately.
Hilmer Doctrne woel and mohair warehouse in New Braunfels sold 100000 pounds of spring 1937 mohair at 70 and 80 cents a pound to PDE and Jack Hughes woodp overs for Studley and Emery of Boston. The remaining 650000 pounds were being priced at the same figures as a court ordered eviction forced 47 sit down workers to exit with 20 deputies and tear gas.
The United Autonomic Workers of America began bargaining with Chrysler affecting over 50 000 employees while seeking recognition as the sole bargaining agent. GM and the union settled most strike issues with one point left a national hourly minimum wage. The Murray Corporation of America started talks to end a sit down strike by 2500 workers occupying the plant.

An 18 year old blonde named Dorothy, who worked a skee ball booth, discovers Bert the candyman from a circus is her father. Bert, 45, and Dorothy’s mother, now Mrs Max Reisner of Cleveland, had separated 15 years ago.
In Pittsburgh on March 1 report seven robberies hit the Herron household in two months. The owners trimmed their inventory each time, police were called the first five incidents, then reporting stopped. Herron said they had done everything possible.
March 31 Austin reports the House approved a bill increasing the off production tax from two and three fourths per cent or two and three fourths cents per barrel to six per cent or six cents per barrel. Pittsburgh March 37 Carnegie-Illinois Steel says it will continue to deal with employee representatives and John J Lewis steel union after Philip Murray says contract signing ends the employee representation plan in the steel industry.
A Wednesday noon Rotary Club program in Roswell featured Miss Annie Jones singing two solos and Miss Crail Hamilton playing two violin pieces. Mrs Earl Miller accompanied on piano and also performed two piano solos.

SAN ANGELO March 3 Brogan Hunt of Sonora was appointed administrator of the estate of the late Judge James Cornell. Will admitted to probate in County Court with a bond set at 50 000. Appraisers named Wo M Hudland Philip Maverick and George D Morgan. The will bequeaths the entire estate, estimated by the administrator at 25 000, to three living sisters and the children of a deceased sister, the children treated as one unit in sharing. Surviving sisters are Mrs Elizabeth Cornell Jewitt, Mrs Mary Cornell Hunt and Mrs Susie Cornell Seargent, all of Kinney County. Children of Mrs Sadie Cornell Veltmann are Charles Heine Clyde Pat and Cornell Veltmann, Mrs Mary Veltmann Williams, Mrs Natalie Veltmann Yerby and Mrs Velma Veltmann Howes.

Nairobi March 3 The Aga Khan’s followers plan to present a $150000 gold brick to the Aga Khan during his jubilee visit as spiritual head of the Ismailia sect. The ceremony features a weigh in as he weighs the bar against his own weight before donating it for social improvement. The ruler weighs about 220 pounds and stands five feet ten inches tall.
A memorial service for the late Judge James Cornell is planned for Saturday March 13 at 2 PM in the District Court room of Brackettville. The committee led by Robert Hughes of San Angelo will organize resolutions honoring Cornell and invite his friends and professional colleagues to attend in a fitting tribute.

The House appropriations committee approved a 526 million dollar Navy budget for the next fiscal year. The plan covers ship and aircraft construction, defers 27 million from the ship program, and carries over 56 million in unexpended current funds to commence destroyers and submarines while continuing battleship and cruiser work.
J R Stidham a 56-year-old Texas farmer and Mrs. N O Glover a 52-year-old widow wed in Hugo Oklahoma after a mail courtship that began last December when Stidham answered a letter in a farm newspaper. They met Friday after Stidham arrived from Texas and were married by Justice of the Peace L W Oakes.
Mrs Everett Kretchbum faced charges after declaring in court that her affidavit was true. The judge ruled the affidavit false, convicting her of perjury and sending her to jail as her husband’s condition was later found to be fine.
Three workers were killed and three others seriously hurt in a collapse at the Poison Dam site after an avalanche of snow trapped them during mucking work. Authorities said the men were buried and later recovered as they attempted to aid colleagues.

Del Rio friends report Mr Shelton remains hospitalized at Southern Pacific Hospital in Houston after more than a week of illness. Mrs Shelton stays by his side as his condition is updated.
