An active lamb market inate City with prices 25 to 2 cents higher. Sheep steady with top native and Colorado lambs at 12 dollars and natives from 11.50 to 11.85. Texas yearlings 6 59 to 7 dollars. Receipts 6 000 sheep and 1 200 calves with holdovers 1770. Cattle receipts 7 000 calves 1 200 with holdover 1670. Market largely at a standstill with mixed yearlings at 10 to 10.35. Hog receipts 11 000 prices mostly 25 to 35 cents lower.
The board met all day Tuesday to review bids totaling about 25000 dollars for chairs tables desks and window shades. One contract won was 849 dollars for automatic lighting equipment from Standard Electric Time Company of Bring Selt Mas. The project includes 300 new chairs for auditorium and classroom use plus 490 new lockers and stage equipment for the new high school and junior high structures. A heavy downpour in the Burry Mountains sent the Lattle River near La Villita rising in minutes. It swept away several parties from Eagle Pass and Piedras Netras who were at a new garden resort but all escaped unharmed. Residents reported the river at high water and townspeople who stayed on the west bank crossed the railroad bridge to reach Piedras Nerras.
The June teenth celebration includes a Tuesday and Thursday dance, a free barbecue, and a baseball game between the Honda Black people and the local Black person nie. Dances occur on the Black person school grounds while Cow boy Park hosts the 3 20 o clock baseball game.
In Terry Montana on June 17 local reports allege a methodical effort by unknown persons to exterminate all dogs, leaving the town with a nearly wiped out canine population and sparking concern among residents.

The Boy Scouts plan a kitchen and mess hall at Camp Few cett on the Nueces River near Aust. E. K. Pawertt, president of the Southwest Texas Council, says construction will be supervised by H. Palme of Uvalde. The buildings initiate a larger program adding cabins and amenities for the organized encampment to open with a two day conference for adult leaders.
