German radio violinist Mark Wollner was held for questioning in Asheville North Carolina in connection with the murder of Helen Clevenger NYU co ed. The report places Wollner under inquiry as part of the investigation into the case.

Paul H. Wendel former Trenton attorney testified before a Federal grand jury in Newark as the new inquiry opened. He said he was forced to confess to the Lindbergh kidnaping under torture. This marked a strange sequel to the Hauptmann case.

Angleton reports Luke Trammell, an escaped prison farm convict, was sentenced to death for the murder of Guard Felix Smith in the June 19 break. Antonio Cabrera aged 21 was hanged at San Quentin California for the May 13 1935 murder of his sweetheart Alberta Sraith 17 of San Bernardino. He faced execution calmly before a small group of witnesses.

NEW HAVEN Connecticut July 24 Hope of saving the old Noah Webster house where the dictionary work was done faded as funds could not be raised. Yale University will raze the building to ease finances. Frederick Kelly of New Haven regrets the loss noting Webster's historic ties to the structure.
Election returns for county district and state offices will be given Saturday night at the Ford News Agency on South Main Street. The state returns will be brief and the usual election party is called off. About 2,200 votes are expected in Val Verde County.

Local interest remains light with a turnout far below the 2490 votes in 1934, and absentee ballots total 163 through Wednesday.
