The New York Buenos Aires non-stow refueling monoplane abandoned in Georgia after circling for two hours due to dwindling fuel and poor visibility. Three crew parachuted to safety and landed near Monroe. Pilots Clarland Peed and Simmy Garrigan were aboard with a radio operator. the crew aimed for a non-stop refueling flight to Buenos Aires planned to take five days.

Free Movie Offer Recovers Cowboy Baseball Losses

Del Rio Cashors management notes an endless supply of baseballs discovered by staff. Theatre passes are given to boys who return balls after games, including some not matching team brands. Pecos Jail Break Leader Killed by Jailer's Wife

Willie Hernandez known as Willie the Hog led a Pecos jail break before being shot through the heart by Mrs. John Duncan the jailer’s wife. Duncan was slugged as he unlocked the cells. Hernandez, serving a life term for murder, was among six prisoners. Pedro Aguilar also sentenced for murder fled after the shooting.

July 14 report from Rocksprings shows Tom Lace, candidate for governor, addressing the Teas Angora Raters Association and praising 1902 goat-stealing law. He claims Texas goats rose from 677,009 to 2,750,000 and touts campaign spending of 2876.15 dollars, 6000 miles traveled, and two speeches in 31 days. Lace forecasts a 73000 vote plurality and predicts Miriam Ferguson second. denounces Ta­m many tangents and warns if Al Smith were chosen. A large crowd, about 3000, attended.

Uvalde Honey Crop Short Due to Cold Winter

Uvalde reports a shorter honey crop than usual as cold weather reduced guajilla brush growth and delayed honey production this spring. Local apiarists say shipments of bees are sent to Cuba and Cuba, N.Y., with six pound packages containing twenty dollars each.

In Uvalde on Tuesday a Dexter Construction crew including Wade Shaw of Carrizo Springs and five others were injured when a loaded truck sideswiped a parked vehicle on highway 55 five miles south of the city. Shaw's injuries may prove fatal. the workers were en route to topping work.
