A posse of sheriff's officers trapped 13 youths in the Crazy Mountains after a gun battle as they fled from a South Dakota industrial school. Two youths, a boy and girl, were shot. A sheriff's bullet wounded another youth in an earlier clash near Big Timber.
Berlin reports Albert Foerster Nazi district leader of Danzig traveled to London to seek British acquiescence to the Autumn plebiscite demanding Danzig's return to Germany.
In San Angelo on July 14 127000 pounds of wool sold to two buyers Tom Richey of A W Hilliard Son and Tom Parker of Emery Conant. Richey bought 100000 pounds from T A Kincaid Ozona and Parker 27000 pounds eight month wool. Parker also bought 36000 pounds eight month wool from March Brothers warehouse. Prices ranged 14.5 to 20 cents per pound.
Funeral rites for Archie A Campbell 61 sales manager of Finch Cigar Company held Thursday at his San Antonio home with his son Rev Paul Campbell of Weatherford officiating. A native Texan who lived in San Antonio 31 years, he was well known to Del Rio business men. Survivors include wife two sons two sisters and two brothers.
A 10 point fascist doctrine issued under the ministry of popular culture proclaims Aryan supremacy and asserts the Italian race may call itself Aryan. The document mirrors Nazi Aryanism and was published in Rome on July 1471 A.
In Hendaye France July 14 insurgent forces pushed along the Teruel Highway threatening to trap thousands of government militia. General Miaja halted drives at Secorbe 35 miles northwest of Valencia and Sagunto 16 miles northeast. A third insurgent force engaged government troops in the Espadan Mountains 16 miles north of the Teruel Sagunto highway. Franco prepared for a grand offensive.
County health nurse Miss Beatrice Hyslop urges civic groups and individuals to report crippled children in need. A diagnostic clinic is planned at the First Baptist Church in Uvalde on July 21, and Del Rio children needing attention will be cared for if named to Miss Hyslop.
Sixty five YMCA boys and supervisors from Houston arrived in Del Rio about noon Thursday to spend two days visiting the city and nearby areas. They camped at the Highway Park preferring it to the San Felipe golf course grounds. They planned sightseeing Thursday afternoon and Friday.

Secretary Wallace announced government loans on 1938 grown wheat will average 59 to 60 cents per bushel.

President Franklin D. Roosevelt arrived at Crockett near San Francisco for a sightseeing tour. He planned a speech at the exposition grounds and a fleet review before entraining for Yosemite at night.
Howard Hughes and his companions landed in New York at 1 36 pm Eastern Time with a total elapsed time of 91 hours 16 minutes for the round trip less than four days. He took off from Fairbanks after a hop from Yakutsk and posed for pictures during a 1 13 minute stop.
The water carnival at Moore Park opens with athletic events at 6 30 pm on Friday July 22 featuring participants from Del Rio and nearby towns. A grand Del Rio girls revue begins at 8 00 pm followed by an inter city revue and awards by 9 00 pm. The Junior Chamber social dance and Fort Clark Band music complete the program with a park feast and a parade kickoff. Chief Cole Y Blackwell will supervise parade and parking with state patrol assistance to ease traffic.
Walter Gillis son of Mr and Mrs Roger Gillis hooked a nine foot tarpon at Aransas Pass on Monday. He fished with his parents and sister Dorothy Gillis who returned to Del Rio Wednesday from Kerrville where Dorothy recovered from pneumonia accompanied by her mother.
Volunteer firemen will meet at the fire station Thursday at 7 30 for regular drill. Fire Chief Frank J. Schmidt urged all to attend and to be on time.
A Social Security Board expert said a general sales tax could replace payroll levies to finance old age pensions, possibly within five to ten years. The remark came in Washington today.
