Washington July 14 Former lieutenant commander John S Farnsworth, arrested after naval officers and justice agents kept watch, faced charges of sending confidential naval publications to the Japanese Navy. He pleaded innocent and could not post 10000 bond. Nine years earlier he was discharged for conduct prejudicial to the United States. Hoover said Farnsworth’s activities were not linked to Harry T Thompson, jailed July 3 in Los Angeles for selling fleet data to a Japanese agent.
Santos Garza 54 longtime San Felipe businessman died Tuesday at 1 pm in Williams Santtamum hospital. Funeral services set for Wednesday at 6 pm from 500 Garza Street with interment at San Felipe Cemetery. Survived by widow Jesusita Garza son Louis and daughters Bertha Elida and Stella.
