Farwell July 8. An ox yoke built soon after the American revolution remains usable and in good condition. Owned by W. B. Osborne, the yoke was made by Jim Osborne after coming from England and settling in North Carolina. Subsequent Osbornes used it on journeys from North Carolina to Georgia, Arkansas, and Texas. The hickory bows stay firm and the cross piece remains sturdy for another trip if oxen were available.
