A light truck and trailer were wrecked Thursday morning at 2 45 o clock about half a mile northwest of the city on Devil's River Road. The event includes invited physicians Rotary Lions PTAs and civic groups with the clinic set for July 21 at First Baptist Church Uvalde and covers a district of multiple counties.

A fire at a four story wooden building during an exhibition drill in Coimbra, 100 miles north of Lisbon, killed ten boys and injured ten others as firemen could not reach them in time. The flames spread rapidly as the building burned.
Testimony in a trial in Riverhead New York reveals that members of the German American Bund were required to take an oath of allegiance to Adolf Hitler. The six directors of the German American Settlement, a Bund affiliate, were accused of failing to file their membership list with the secretary of state as required for oath bound groups.

Congressman Chas L. South arrived in Del Rio this afternoon after presenting seven Tom Green County tenant farmers with checks to become farm owners. The ceremony occurred in San Angelo before about 125 people. South praised federal programs transforming tenants into home builders while noting Navy funding.

NLRB examiner says Ford Motor Company should bargain collectively with United Automobile Workers at the St Louis assembly plant. The examiner also proposes reemployment for 192 workers discharged or refused jobs over union activity in the November strike. Ford has 10 days to reply.
