A two-vehicle crash on Devil's River hill, 12 miles northwest of Del Rio, at 4:30 p m Friday injured Mr and Mrs F Schecherer of New York City and Roy Lorton of Alvin Texas. Mrs Schecherer suffered a broken rib and bruises, her husband minor injuries, Lorton a split lip and bruises. The party searched for a white wirehaired fox terrier after the collision but the dog was not found.

MARFA July 6 The Presidio County Relief Board resigned in a body after a meeting last night in which they could not agree on a successor to O L Shipman county relief administrator whose resignation is effective August 1.
Olney reports Wilmer T. Swink eight miles west of town sold the first 1935 wheat to market on June 6. The Early Black Hull wheat from nine acres yielded 20 bushels per acre. Swink previously set the 1933 US early market record with May 23 sales.
In Juneau Alaska townspeople clash with union pickets amid a push to reopen the Alaska Juneau gold mine, the world's second largest. Over 1 000 people participate and more than 100 are injured before police disperse the rioters as a bird’s eye photo captures the chaotic scene and knocked out rioters on the sidewalk.
In Baton Rouge on July 6, Senator Huey Long pushed his anti patronage and anti relief funds legislation toward passage. The House began approving measures while rejecting a resolution backing Roosevelt’s old age pension and flood relief funding. Bills advancing to the Senate later today.
Changes in the United States mounted Customs service affecting Del Rio were announced Saturday. J. E. Weathers, stationed in Del Rio 10 years, will be transferred to Brownsville and plans to leave Sunday for Pearsall before his new post. W. E. Kilborn, formerly of Del Rio and stationed at Roma, is transferred back to Del Rio, arriving Friday night. Earl B. Franks of Hebbronville will be transferred to Del Rio.
Del Rio Rotary Club will present its annual program Monday at 8 p m in Hotel Roswell. O R Weinert club president announced that all committee chairmen will join the board of directors to outline the year’s plans and activities.
Elizabeth Ganshaw and husband William attempted to end their lives together after years of illness and hardship. Elizabeth died as planned, while William failed to complete the act, subsequently calling police and saying his nerve failed.

Washington July 6. A bill to raise substantial taxes to fund the President's program was disclosed. Representative Samuel Hull of Washington, chairman of the Ways and Means sub-committee, said the aim is to raise a large amount of money and that no agreement exists between Congress and the Treasury on the exact sum.
Austin reports campaign to end cigar et tax evasion three cent tax. Sam Kimberline, director of cigarette tax decisions, warned felony complaints would be filed in Travis County against each consumer with unpaid taxes.
J F Lancaster aged 86, father of Mrs Jnc Y Long, was painfully injured in a fall on the steps of the Long porch in North Heights Friday. It is feared his left hip may be broken.
Sonora reports the Eighth Annual Ranchmen's Round-up to be held August 6 and 7 at the Ranch Experiment Station 27 miles southeast of town. W H Damfron superintendent says the event blends education and entertainment with lectures on blow fly control diseases in sheep vitamin deficiencies in livestock feeding for market saddle horse care and range vegetation. A free barbecue lunch is provided daily with camping facilities and meals for guests.
