He and sister Lydia Woodherst of Santa Rosa, plus a Missouri brother, are beneficiaries of great uncle John B. Laughter who died in 1930 as oil was found on 1900 acres near Wichita Falls Texas.

Postal hike to shift delivery of statements at local banks
With the July 6 postage increase first class mail costs rise. One local bank will stop mailing statements for accounts with many cancelled checks and instead deliver them by bank messenger. A subset of 500 to 600 monthly statements will still be mailed to small and out of town depositors. This raises postage by about one third, roughly 18 dollars a month or 216 annually. The bank discourages leaving statements at the bank for pickup, due to customers who never request them and a growing pile. Another local bank will continue mailing all statements. they expect postage to rise from 85 to about 115 dollars monthly, or 1,380 annually.

Farmer shoots wife in crisis at Nacogdoches farm
