William F Roberts Jr former cashier at Lohn State Bank north of Brady was released on a 10000 dollar bond after being charged with five counts of forgery and one of embezzlement. Trial set for August 11. The bank closed June 3 after Roberts was found wounded at home following a January 6 robbery.
Three men arrested by border patrol during a Tuesday night incident faced liquor and smuggling charges. The defendants Pancho Villa Francisco Bacartne and Hernando Exsrareno Zamatripa are held on federal entry issues with bonds pending. authorities seized twenty eight bottles of assorted liquors from across the river as part of the case.
Washington July 1 The House approved a plan for a unified border patrol but Senate action is doubtful this session. Other proposals include transferring city enforcement to the Department of Justice and expanding the federal prison system. The border patrol plan would consolidate immigration and customs patrols under an Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, with civil service status not guaranteed by amendment.

His condition is very favorable and no serious results are anticipated. The snake bit him while he played in the yard. The snake was killed and measured about two feet with four rattlers. Ballard works at the Del Rio Refinery and lives near the plant three miles east of the city.
Washington July 2 Comptroller J W Pole issued a call for the condition of all National banks as of June 30 The notice requires banks to submit reports detailing assets liabilities and capitalization by a set deadline and reflects ongoing supervision of banks nationwide.
Visitors may bring one camera or kodak into Mexico free of charge with a duty of two pesos per kilo on unexposed film. The consul stresses that Mexicans oppose images that denigrate the country but welcome pictures of scenery, buildings, general views and sports images. Chicago gangster Frankie Foster tells police the gun used to murder Alfred Lingle, a Chicago Tribune reporter, may be the same weapon he says was taken from him by a Chicago policeman a year ago and never returned. Foster has been indicted for murder by Cook County grand jury and is said to be held for questioning on the Lingle case.
