O B Martin head of the Texas Extension Service was seriously ill at College Station and removed to a Bryan hospital. He had not regained consciousness by this afternoon.
AustinJuly 1 The Highway Department shows total motor vehicle licensing income rose in the first five months of 1935 though registrations declined. State receipts reached 3 982 834 with counties at 8 330 627 on May 31, vs 3 907 014 and 8 332 748 last year. Passenger car registrations fell slightly while farm vehicles rose significantly. Commercial trucks dropped and totals for other classes are listed. Counties keep up to 50 000, state shares 50 000 to 175 000, and excess to the state. Only four counties exceeded 175 000.
The Dr. Brinkley II, yacht of Dr and Mrs John R Brinkley, was hauled off a rocky ledge near Chebogue Point Sunday and towed to Yarmouth Nova Scotia for minor repairs. Coast guard cutters rescued their party including Johnnie Brinkley, Dr H D Osborn, G A MacDonald and Miss Katherine Hocutt. They stayed at the Grand Hotel in Yarmouth before departing for Halifax.

A. F. Kraut of Eagle Pass, a 13 year customs clerk, arrived in Del Rio Monday to temporarily assume Capt. Luke Dowe’s post. Dowe retired July 1, and Kraut will serve as deputy collector of customs in Del Rio until a successor is appointed by H. P. Hornby, collector of customs.
A Comstock Mexican was found guilty of disturbing the peace in Comstock. Tried Monday in Del Rio before Justice J. P. Aderhold, he faced a disturbance charge from Sunday. Sheriff A. E. Steinmetz and Deputy Jim Seale apprehended him. he paid a $1 fine plus costs or $14.
