A recount of ballots from precincts 13 and 10 in Bexar County Texas by the House elections subcommittee shows Harry M Wurzbach Republican gaining 176 votes over Augustus McCloskey Democrat. Highway Topping Begun on Stretch of Border Highway
Work starts on another section of the Border Highway from the Uvakde-Kinney County line toward Uvaide with an asphalt topping and gravel base. Contractors expect completion within ten days as topping is laid at about 4900 feet daily. The gap closing will connect the county to a paved east west route from San Antonio to El Paso via Del Rio.

Mrs Rosa Qualia Dies Unexpectedly At Del Rio Home
Mrs Rosa Mary Quale 4 wife of Chris Qualia died at her Del Rio home on Lovers Lane Thursday night at 10. She had been ill for several weeks and was thought to be recovering until a few days ago. She married in June 1917 and is survived by her husband two children Genevive 8 and Nathaniel 4, her mother Mrs Constance Tagiiabue two sisters Mrs Ralph Farley and Miss Adella Tagiiabue and one brother Charles Tagiiabue all of Del Rio Funeral arrangements not completed Friday afternoon.

Tank Storage at Del Rio Refinery To be Increased
Del Rio refinery will gain expanded storage capacity as 25 000 barrels will be stored in new tanks east of the existing tank farm. Cafe Owner Fatally Shot in Dallas Affray
Dallas report of January 3 states cafe owner Mike Murphy was shot twice in the head and twice in the chest in a downtown affray. Waiter Kidd was arrested shortly after and confessed, saying the shooting ended a dispute as Murphy operated a small business at the location.

Sheep Theft Charged Against San Angelo Ranchman
Dee Word of San Angelo was jailed on a charge of sheep theft with a $1,000 bond. C. R. Word and Mixx Nettie Word acted as sureties.
