Prison guard dies from 1930 escape gunfight
Major Joseph Crowson, 33, Eastham prison farm guard, died after being wounded during the January 16 wood squad escape aided by a man believed to be Clyde Barrow. City Tax Deadline Extended to 10 P M Wednesday

Death of Del Rio Resident Alvin Hollmig After Illness
Alvin Hollmig 79 longtime Del Rio resident died Monday night at his home after paralysis. He came to Del Rio 30 years ago from Fredericksburg after a German sojourn with his parents who left St Paul Minnesota for Europe when he was two. He married Mary Wright in Llano in 1880. Survivors include one daughter Quincy Adams Allison Texas 19 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 5 p m from Doran Funeral Home with interment at Westlawn Cemetery.
