Mrs. Bessie Sharp faces a murder charge for allegedly poisoning her husband Teletus Sharp at Big Canyon Ranch. A 100 person venire will be called in Sanderson before Judge Joseph Jones to form a jury, with possible second venire if needed. About 200 qualified jurors remain after excluding grand jurors and witnesses. Man Wanted for Herald Printing Theft Arrested
Sheriff M. L. Bud Whistler and Deputy R. A. Hopkins nabbed a man tied to the theft of five numbering machines from the Herald Printing Company. The suspect, Howard Gordon, was seen exiting a filling station in Comstock and turned over to Del Rio county jail to face charges. The theft occurred Wednesday afternoon at the Herald office.

Services for Jim McMahan Held Today
Funeral services for Jim McMahan aged 87 known as The Old Man of the River were held at Doran Funeral Home with Rev James F Black officiating. Interment followed at West Lawn Cemetery. McMahan who died after walking into a moving car driven by Buford Daniels was deemed to have caused the accident and Daniels cleared of blame. He long lived as a pioneer settler and Ranger and is survived by son Ben B McMahan Tampico Mexico and daughter Mrs Willis Osgood Fabens Texas.
