Uncle Jim McMahan Dies After Street Collision in Del Rio
The 87 year old Del Rio resident known as Uncle Jim McMahan died after a three o clock Thursday collision with a moving car on Main Street. He had walked into the side of the vehicle and died about seven hours later at a local hospital. He arrived in Texas in 1866 from Blount County Tennessee and was a noted trapper and river pioneer active around Del Rio and the Rio Grande. He is survived by a daughter Mrs Willis Osgood Fabens Texas and a son Ben Bo McMahan Tampico Mexico. Funeral arrangements await arrival of Mrs Osgood.
