Del Rio officials announce no bond election is needed for the $77,000 Public Works Administration loan and grant for the water system extension to San Felipe. Del Rio Independent School District taxes total 44 percent of a $52 741 50 roll with only three days left to pay. Officials fear more than half the current roll will default. Mary Pickford, noted motion picture actress, was under guard at the home of Fulton Aursler, playwright, in Falmouth Mass after fleeing Boston last night. A pursuer was reported trailing her for two days and police patrolled the estate as Pickford refused to explain the incident.
Senator Huey Long accused the New Orleans city payroll of padding in the interests of the election and announced a retaliatory state investigation into the city hall payroll following a mayoral faction victory. The clash stems from Tuesday's election results as Long targets Mayor Walmsley supporters.
The President's interdepartmental committee urged Congress to license stock exchanges and appoint a Federal administrator. Senate Banking Committee released the report noting exchanges and speculation heavily blamed for the market mood and conditions.

Ranchers denied opposing the union but opposed intimidation of workers.
