Horrified residents of Tilleur flee as a noxious fog drifting from the hills stirs fear of a deadly outbreak. The region reports sixty deaths in the month, with officials collecting samples for analysis and authorities urging calm.
A tear gas cartridge discovered in front of the Federal Building on Main Street by a reporter and W Cwerchert showed it was a weapon designed for police use and made in Federal laboratories. The device, covered in mud, had been on the street for days and was dismantled by Captain Luke Dover and J White of the Bureau of Investigation.
Mrs A B Talmadge of Del Rio sustained injuries last Friday night when her car struck a lumber truck parked on the highway near Mission. The truck was unlit and not visible in time to avoid, causing about 300 dollars in damages to her car. Mrs Talmadge suffered no serious injuries.
Roscoe H. Dietiker general agent and Roy R Huntley traveling passenger agent of the Santa Fe Railroad spent Wednesday night in Del Rio looking after freight interests from this section of the state. Both men have headquarters at San Antonio.

Officers in Socorro near El Paso report Clyde Havens found dead in his isolated farm home. He was clubbed with a shotgun and shot in the head, apparently after a struggle. His brother Lester Havens of Del Rio discovered the body Wednesday night. Havens had lived alone for months and the brothers formerly resided in Barksdale Edwards County.
Sam Helm of Corsicana and Thomas M Bartlett of Waco will speak at a Masonic rally Friday night at the local lodge. The program, for all Master Masons, follows a barbecue at 6 PM. Helm and Bartlett are seasoned speakers touring the state on Masonry symbolism.
Dr. F. M. Rose and Bud Mc Kinney killed what they claimed was a charter member of the Eat More Lamb club on the Eagle Pass highway. The coyote, as large as a German police dog, was pursued after being spotted about 14 miles from Del Rio. After a lengthy chase the exhausted animal sought a wash and was dispatched with rocks.

Six masked bandits robbed the Detroit Cincinnati Flyer early Thursday near the Grants siding in Bellefontaine Ohio. A passenger was shot and critically wounded while cash and jewelry worth about 2500 dollars were taken from sleeper car occupants. Edwin Nelson cried out before being shot as victims were marched to the smoker. The bandits escaped as the train entered Bellefontaine.

In Fort Stockton Minnie Henderson, widow of Claude Henderson, interrupted the murder trial at Iraan by shouting for Judge Oxford. The case saw defense and state testimony on sanity and premeditation after the shooting in the oil field housing, with a verdict reached after five hours of deliberation.
