Elizabeth Blanche Garrett 42, longtime Del Rio Evening News editor for a shopping column and later sports and business sections, died Sunday evening in a local sanitarium after a week illness. Born October 15, 1892, she lived in Bandera, Kimble, Del Rio, and San Antonio and worked for multiple newspapers before moving to Del Rio in 1933. Funeral services were tentatively set for Wednesday at 4:45 p.m. from Doran Funeral Home pending her mother’s arrival. Survivors include her mother, five sisters, three brothers, and extended family.

Final Services Held For Virginia Wurz
Funeral services were held for Virginia Wurz age 14 at Sacred Heart Church in Garden Parks. She died Friday from pneumonia after a four day illness. She was born in Del Rio and attended Del Rio Junior School eighth grade. Survivors include her parents eight brothers three sisters and several relatives in Del Rio Grand Falls and California.
