Washington analysis notes Republicans label the budget staggering and frank, while Democrats defend New Deal programs. The dispute centers on farm policy and wartime land purchases as the 1930s congressional race looms and the nation weighs debt and development.
The budget projects about 3.3 billion dollars in RFC loans through June 30, with only about 600 million in the first half of the fiscal year. The plan implies broader federal financial aid, likely aiding railroads and mortgage and building loan firms while banks have been cushioned.

Del Rio re employment agency launches drive to register all unemployed ex service men in Val Verde County. Of about 250 veterans, only a small portion are jobless. Forty one on the rolls mostly employed through PWA CWA or private firms. J E Fuquay urges all jobless ex service men to register at the agency HQ in the old Del Rio National Bank Building.
Judge Brian Montague ruled for the defendant Daniel Perez in the two day bench trial of Perez v. the T N O Railroad finding no evidence of negligence by the company. The decision arrived Tuesday evening and may be appealed to a higher court.
Wool buyers anticipate resumed activity in Fall wools as about 3,250,000 pounds remain unsold in Texas warehouses. The Menard Wool and Mohair Co has 1,250,000 pounds tied up by a 20 cent a pound advance to customers. The National Wool Merchandising Association has offered preshearing advances up to one dollar per head.
The Texhoma area in the Oklahoma Panhandle and the northwest Texas Panhandle logged more than 140 damaging sandstorms in 1933, with 139 noted by December 1 and only storms harming crops counted. Through 11 months there were 334 days, 195 windy or pleasant, and months from January to September show 6, 5, and 12 to 21 storms respectively.
J. H. Murray, of St. Louis, charged with intoxication, was freed when he accurately picked up two pins dropped on the courtroom floor to prove steadiness of eye and hand.
Senate investigators heard that major air mail contractors conferred with former Postmaster General Walter Brown on bid specifications for transcontinental routes. The plan allegedly favored experienced night flying and excluded independents. D M Sheaffer, executive committee chair, testified that 25,000 shares of Transcontinental stock were given to Colonel Charles A Lindbergh in return for services.
Chicago reports a settlement ending the five day milk blockade that caused a city milk famine. Farmers representatives and city officials from Mayor Kelly's office reached an agreement to resume milk deliveries with price discussions to follow. Secretary Wallace said he would not intervene to set prices.
Mr A F Pritula chief engineer for Soviet Russia has spent weeks in Gulf Coast oil fields studying American pipeline and storage methods. He praised the reception by American oil men and noted detailed observations in a notebook with sketches. He is from Moscow and plans to move on to New Orleans before returning to Russia next month.
Jan. 10 report from J. M. Hill Jr. states U S biological survey will trap ravens this winter to protect ranchers in Lynn and Terry counties. A Tahoka built trap on the T bar ranch will be reopened, and at Brownfield one or two traps may be built to reduce raven damage.

Six large Navy seaplanes ready to attempt a 2150 nautical mile cross ocean hop from San Francisco to Honolulu. Lt. Commander Kneffler McGinnis expects landing at Pearl Harbor by noon Thursday with six support ships on standby along the route.
Humble Company officials said the wild cratered oil well in the Conroe Field has been killed. The well had been flowing at 6,500 barrels per day.
The city clerk E F Howard is reported to show slight improvement at his North Heights home after several days illness from pneumonia and influenza. Johnnie Hunnicutt appointed to assist in the office during Howard's absence from city hall.
The last member of an old buffalo herd on the Black ranch near Higgins was shot four times after going on a rampage. The aged animal refused to stop for people or fences and was killed recently to end the disturbance.
The American Legion Auxiliary in Del Rio voted to sell Centennial Stamps ahead of the 1926 Texas Centennial to publicize the event and fund the Texas State Memorial Museum. They also urged registering children of World War veterans with Mrs. Marvin Ellis for welfare data and voted to join the local Chamber of Commerce.

The independence offices supply bill was pared to 569 million with 546 million for the veterans bureau. It extends the economy act and enforces a 10 percent pay cut for federal workers for another year. Democratic and Republican leaders expect a stormy session as debate opens tomorrow. Dutch stonemason Marinus Van der Lubbe was beheaded in Berlin for setting the Reichstag fire last February. He had confessed the crime but did not name accomplices and made no statement before execution.

Heaviest winter frost records a 24 degree low delaying strawberry harvest by two weeks as pipes froze and crops suffered in Springs on January 10. The frost halted field work and damaged berries across the region.
