Longview January 8 District Attorney Claude A. Williams moved to stop the transit of 860 cases of liquor and asked for destruction or transfer to state institutions through injunctions in 124th District Court. Judge Will C. Hurst granted four temporary orders naming Texas & Pacific Railroad Greggton Red Ball Transportation and Southern Transportation to bar movement of whiskey and gin from their premises.
The Val Verde County Chapter of the American Red Cross votes at 4 p m Wednesday in the Chamber of Commerce. Officers and 27 directors will be elected while reports on last year’s work and plans for the coming year are discussed. A nurse hire is a key objective, with talks on disaster and home service programs and life saving plans. R H Ziehm, regional field representative from St Louis, will attend.
Mrs A Campbell travels to Victoria to stay at the bedside of her father S M Dodson who is critically ill and not expected to recover. She is accompanied by her son R W Payne.

Seven shot to death and four wounded in Sapiedad Michoacan as Federal troops battled alleged plotters against the government. Soldiers trapped four in a house and killed them after a brisk gun fight. A soldier, policeman and a passerby were killed by fire from the house. Reports also tallied rebels and Federal casualties near the Durango Sinaloa boundary adjoining Michoacan.
Rome January 8 Pierre Laval French foreign minister returned to France after signing a pact of consultation with Mussolini France and Italy will consult on actions when Austrian independence is menaced A non intervention pact with Austria and neighboring states was also agreed Laval denied agreeing to German rearmament if it joined the pact and returned to the League of Nations
Del Ricans attend San Angelo meet as Co. B. Dutch Wardlew W Stevenson and Geo. E. O Neill depart Tuesday afternoon for an executive Sheep and Goat Raisers Association session Wednesday. Selection of an attorney for the association will be among the board's business transactions.
In court at Flemington New Jersey on Tuesday Bruno Richard Hauptmann was pointed out by Amandus Hochmuth as the man seen in a green car near Hopewell the night of March 1 1932 the Lindbergh baby kidnapping. Hochmuth touched Hauptmann for identification and testified he saw a ladder in the car. Defense counsel challenged police efficacy noting no fingerprints were found in the nursery or on the ladder.
Funeral services were conducted for Mildred Katherine Kennedy 17 at Sacred Heart Church with Requiem Mass. Interment followed at Sacred Heart Cemetery under Doran Funeral Home. She died Sunday from a throat infection after ten days illness. Born in Del Rio January 20 1917 she lived in the city all her life. Survivors include her parents two sisters and a twin sister.
At the annual stockholders meeting of Del Rio National Bank all officers and directors were re elected. Elected as chair man B. E. Wilson and as president L. Rust.
