L. D. Murray brother of Mrs. Joe Cox of this city was severely injured in a dynamite explosion on the Me dine Highway Friday. He was rushed to Nix Hospital in San Antonio with portions of his face torn away and other serious injuries. Mrs. Cox has been ill for about two weeks and could not be at his bedside.
Plans for the annual Chamber of Commerce banquet to be held at 7 30 p m Tuesday in the Roswell Hotel have been completed. Directors will meet Tuesday morning for the last time to hear the year 1934 financial statements. Judge Perry S Robertson former San Antonio Chamber president will speak with A G Edwards as toastmaster. Reservations may be made at the Chamber or Roswell Hotel.
Senator Borah urged Federal aid to States to establish old age pension systems in a strong plea issued from Washington. He argued for nationwide support to fund retirement programs and provide security for elderly citizens.
