City clerk Albert Seargent 40 of Brackettville was found dead from carbon monoxide in his car near his ranch gate about 30 miles northwest of Brackettville. He had served as city clerk since 1932 and worked for Walter Works. Funeral services are set for Wednesday at 4 30 from the family home with Doran Funeral Home of Del Rio in charge. He was son of Mr and Mrs Oscar Seargent, husband of Laura Maldix Seargent, and survived by five children, two sisters and a brother.

Other officers named include Marvin Catyp as first vice president Metgui Rowland as second vice president Claude Miller as treasurer and Walter Lazenby as secretary. Directors listed include J C Bourland Charles Ledbelter J H Conk Roland Murray Charles Merk Douglas Smith Roy Lee Harrington Collier Hopkins W M Steel C N Parsons and Eo Mireles. Alternate directors named were Boom Holmes Herbert Ove Dan Moor John Hunnicutt and G M Leaves. The next Chamber meeting is planned for January 18.
