The Dallas News distributed its Wednesday edition in Pasadena for Texans at the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day. The 24 page Ros Bech edition was produced in Dallas and printed in Los Angeles with 23 pages set in matrix form and transmitted by train and air. The front page was wired to Los Angeles and Dallasites in Pasadena greeted the edition enthusiastically.

Ballots for the annual Chamber of Commerce directors election will be mailed on January 8 in the afternoon. The nominating committee proposed a slate of candidates including J. R. Roswell. Jan. 4. A J Price Clements, 37, pardoned in 1932 for murder, pleaded guilty in District Court to possession of burglary tools linked to an attempted robbery of a lumber company safe. The charge carries a maximum 10 year term.
Roland Markell, 21, shown in the Buffalo U S attorney office, confessed to writing extortion letters to Frank E. Gannett and Louis W. Wehle for a thrill to test detectives. He denied any money collection intent.
