C B Dutch Wardlaw president of the Producers Wool and Mohair Co and Roger Gillis after Washington briefings forecast higher wool prices for 1938 driven by favorable dealer and Senate committee attitudes toward federal regulation of wool tops exchange trading. He cited regulator proposals and an exchange rider to the farm bill as likely to curb speculative abuses and support a market rebound. The pair discussed including wool in the Commodity Exchange Act to extend futures regulation to agricultural commodities.
Joe Daniels and R L Daniels sons of Mr and Mrs M D Daniels were taken to their home on Seventh Street and Avenue D Monday after injuries from a Sunday automobile wreck. The spinal injuries’ gravity could not be determined yet. Cathrine Haynes suffered severe bruises and cuts. The crash occurred Sunday night about 10 near Las Moras Creek while returning to Del Rio from Eagle Pass.
Mrs Rosa Rubio 45 widow of J B Rubio died Monday afternoon at 430 o clock from injuries suffered 23 days earlier when struck by an automobile in San Felipe. Her husband died about two years ago. Funeral services set for 430 o clock Tuesday from the family home at 409 Rubio Street in Sar Two children J B Rubio Jr and Miss Laura Rubio survive.
In Madrid on December 14, cold weather and wintry blasts stopped the insurgent offensive in the northwest of Spain. Military reports indicate operations were interrupted and enemy progress slowed by adverse conditions.
Reports of officers and chairmen of the Val Verde County Health Council show about 2000 pupils have had physical exams. Eye ear nose throat checks at West End Elementary. 350 of 463 pupils examined with 90 percent vaccinated.

The San Felipe Country Club members elected a board of governors Monday evening during a Chamber of Commerce meeting. Elected were Dr John R. Brinkley, Hilary B. Doran, Phil B. Foster, Nate Prazier, R H Hurd, J B Brokaw, Dan Moore, W M Stool, Dr D A York, Jus C Netts, and Paul Sultenfuss. The board will organize Wednesday at 4 15 o clock in the Chamber.
W C Haynie 45, brother of Mrs Oscar Hope of Del Rio, was killed in an automobile accident Monday evening about 7 30 while returning to his Fort Scott Arkansas home from a hunting trip. Family suspects an ice skid and overturn. Survivors include widow and two daughters, parents, a sister, and two brothers. Funeral plans pending burial location.
New Orleans reports that Frank Chabina, 19, has seen after a left eye donated by John Amos. Dr George Halk said the cornea transplant shows good indication of success and bandages will come off in about three days.
A man was found shot to death in his Houston home today. Police said the victim was identified as Der Beller 50. Investigators are reviewing unemployment stress and domestic factors as possible causes.
