A Fort Clark sergeant Thomas Roberts was given a two year suspended sentence after a District Court jury found him guilty of the death of E. R. Cofield in a head on collision on October 8, 1936. Roberts testified about his 27 years in the service and his World War I record as defense evidence.

The strategy committee of the seamen's Strike announced moves to remove officers of the Eastern and Gulf Sailors Association. Meetings in 14 cities endorsed vacant executive posts and named delegates for local affairs and a coastwide New York conference on December 14. 8000 sailors attended the meetings as officers George Cummings Percy Pryor and Gustave H. Brown were named in the charge over their failure to call an election. The Marine Engineers Beneficial Association backed the strike while Washington had noted partial withdrawals by related unions and New York locals disputed the scope of those withdrawals.
In Seattle Washington probate judge sustains a demurrer granting widow Mrs Rubye Nix Zioncheck a fifty dollar weekly allowance for at least a month. The action stems from a suit by Mrs Ann Nadeau alleging the estate would be depleted. the administratrix administers the late Representative M A Zioncheck who died last summer.
Senator Alva B. Adams said he may ask field investigators to propose remedial legislation based on their year long inquiries into wool marketing. He will review findings with investigators and decide if formal hearings are needed, noting most activity centers in Boston with 85 percent of U S wool trading.

The four, all strangers to the area, were jailed in Val Verde County and to be moved to Uvalde for charges.
