NEW TAZEWELL Tenn Dec 7 Sheriff Frank Riley said Frank Hopson 22 surrendered admitting he was one of three bandits who robbed the bank yesterday and killed Sheriff L B Hutchinson of Union County He named Gus McCoig and Pete Dean escaped convicts as his companions and said McCoig killed the sheriff.
Funeral services were held in Comstock for Henry Gobble 48 found dead Thursday on Hudspeth river ranch. Dr H B Ross said death from heart attack, Gobble dead about eight hours when found. He had worked on the state highway for two years and earlier ranched in Devil's River country. Survivors include daughter Lenelle Gobbie Del Rio four sisters and three brothers. Del Rio mourners from several Gobble families attended.
A Texas ranchman who sold 100000 pounds of Spring wool at 300 cents a pound and delivered the cleanest clip was named president of the Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers Association on the convention's second day in San Antonio. He succeeds Abe Mayer of San Angelo.
The Del Rio Chamber of Commerce and Garden Club invite residents to join a residential outdoor Christmas light contest with 25 prizes.
