Mrs Grace Fort Jones 26 daughter of Mr and Mrs W A Fort died Monday at 4 AM in the Port home on Spring Street after five years of illness. Funeral Tuesday at 5 PM from First Baptist Church with Rev LB Gilbert officiating. Interment West Lawn Cemetery. Born Winters July 26 1911, she lived in Oana McCamey Del Rio and graduated McCamey High School in 1928. Survivors include her parents four sisters and two brothers.
Charles Zimy, who set a marathon record by swimming 145 miles from Albany to New York in 47 hours 37 minutes, is reported in very serious condition in a New York hospital. Doctors fear lung congestion could lead to pneumonia.

Tyler Brakeman of the Cotton Belt Railroad was killed by a freight train two miles south of Big Sandy today while on duty. The tragedy occurred near Big Sandy as the crew operated through the area on a routine run. Local authorities investigated the incident and notified next of kin.
