Ranchers around Val Verde County report goats being shorn and large quantities of mohair arriving at Del Rio wool and mohair warehouses. Officials anticipate a higher fall clip than 1928’s about 1,250,000 pounds, with good quality mohair coming from Del Rio and nearby towns such as Rocksprings Brackettville and Sonora.
Dr A H Hughes assistant state veterinarian conducts dairy cattle testing in Del Rio for milk supply. Progress is good though not completed this week. Serum was injected Monday and today with results visible after three days. Early tests show some cows diseased, with 127 cases found in Laredo first week and indemnity for slaughter.

The Goddess of Discord scored heavily against Dan Cupid yesterday as three divorce suits were filed in the district clerk's office. This raises this month’s filings to eight while only eleven marriage licenses have been issued to date. Two suits allege desertion and one alleges non support.
Three swimmers Meredith Peters Walter Roach and William Stockings injured when their car toppled off a bridge near the pool by the pump house. Stockings required stitches for a foot wound Roach suffered body bruises and shock. The car belonged to Peters and plunged into the creek below the railroad bridge crossing San Felipe.

Bourland a Brewster County pioneer and long service to local government died at his son's home after a period of declining health. He moved to the region many years ago and was 77 years old.
