Boundaries Altered for Precincts One Ten and Fifteen

The Commissioners Court carves a new fifteenth precinct in the county and redraws Precincts One Ten and Eleven. Precinct One begins at South Main and Losolla, travels to San Felipe Creek. Precinct Ten extends from the San Felipe Creek bridge to the Rio Grande and Calaveras Creek, up to Highway 85 and Sycamore Creek. Precinct Eleven starts at South Main and Losolla, follows Losolla to the San Felipe Creek bridge and to the G. H. & S. A. Railroad. Precinct Fifteen begins at the San Felipe Creek bridge, goes along Taini Avenue to Calaveras Creek and upstream to the railroad and San Felipe Creek.

Man Charged With Selling Indecent Literature Held

Raymond Barnell indicted by the Val Verde County grand jury in July for selling indecent literature was arrested in San Antonio Wednesday night. He was brought to Del Rio and jailed in the Val Verde County jail to await trial in the Sixty-Third District Court.

Trade pact provisions announced by Washington officials

Washington officials announced a proposed reciprocal trade treaty with Argentina would largely spare Western cattlemen and wool growers. The list of concessions includes beef and veal, canned and preserved, with duties of 6 cents a pound or 20 percent of value, and other items such as dressed turkeys, corn, and coarse wools. Western congressmen warned Argentine canned corned beef could be included, while imports of similar beef categories were minimal in 1937.
