Walter Cox Enrolls in First Aid and Life Saving Course

Walter Cox, custodian of the Moore Park pool, is in San Angelo taking a Red Cross first aid and life saving course under Roger Plaisted. The program aims to certify him as a water safety instructor and life saving examiner, with logistics covered by the Val Verde Red Cross, Del Rio Park Board and Boy Scouts. Brinkley appeals in U S Circuit Court over alleged libel

Dr J R K Brinkley of Little Rock and Del Rio appeals a Texas federal verdict denying 250000 damages in a libel suit against Dr Morris Pishbein of New York and the American Medical Association. The February 1938 magazine piece called Brinkley a charlatan and questioned his gland transplanting methods.

Three Trustees To Be Named For Lutheran Church

Faith Lutheran Church plans to elect three trustees by congregation vote. The decision was made at a Faith Lutheran Brotherhood meeting held Tuesday evening at C. J. Moehring home on Third Street. Intermediate Credit Bank official touts strong livestock prices

George M. Brennan of Washington DC, an Intermediate Credit Bank commissioner, said livestock prices have held up across the United States. He spoke in Del Rio en route home from Spokane after attending a presidents of credit banks meeting, noting good crop conditions and continued low-interest loans for agricultural products for at least six more months. Brennan praised Texas sheepmen for their handling of wool loans and cited price stabilization aided by the program.

Porter couple marks 62nd wedding anniversary in Del Rio

Mr and Mrs J W Porter celebrated their sixty second wedding anniversary Tuesday with children grandchildren and friends. They married in Kirkville Missouri and moved to Del Rio about 1920 after five years in the Panhandle. Their four children were all born in Missouri.
