In San Angelo and surrounding goat country, Eastern mohair dealers offered 60 to 70 cents a pound for Fall mohair as shearing begins. Estimates show 200 000 to 750 000 pounds contracted, mostly by warehouses for eastern firms and some direct to growers. Junction chosen as site for the 1938 show and sale. directors elected by ballot include M D Taylor, S F Cooper, A E Mayes, and others.
West Texans from San Angelo Ovona Dryden Del Rio and Fort Worth area plan to attend the American Rambouiler Sheep Breeders Association and National Ram Sale in Salt Lake City August 23 to 25. Attendees include J W Owens Wallace Hendricks Sam Ashburn D T Jones Victor Pierce N M Scott and Roger Gillis. Discussion may relocate Rambouillet headquarters from Marysville Ohio to San Angelo.
Workers completed two days of minor repairs on a drain at the Federal Building. One man was tied to a rope fixed to the roof ridge while partners watched from above and below. Heated irons were hoisted to the worker, drawing interest for the method used.

Chinese planes bombed crowded zones near the international settlement while 16 Chinese planes attacked Japanese ships and troops. Epitu ni Berrones a Latin American girl sentenced July 2 in District Court to three years in the penitentiary for stealing a $350 diamond ring was granted a six month reprieve by Acting Governor Walter Woodu for health reasons. The case, heard before Judge Brian Monagur, involved parole to the Va Verde County Parole Board with periodic reporting, and district attorney LaCrosse noted reprieve extensions depend on parolee conduct.
Nieves Cantu was held on a $300 bond after a preliminary hearing Friday afternoon. He appeared before Judge J P Aderhald in Justice Court on a forgery charge and was bound over for grand jury investigation.
