Police hunted Lawrence Rea for the triple shooting that killed Govalle farmer B. N. Payton and wounded his wife and son. Norman Payton identified Rea from a picture. Rea is also wanted in Houston on several charges.
Joe King is appointed music dean at St. Edward's University on a three year contract. He will depart Del Rio for Austin August 31 and will direct all instrument types while teaching music. King has been active as a Boy Scouts councillor, bugle music and reptile work organizer, and serves as a fingerprint expert for the local sheriff's department with a recent fingerprint file completed.
