The Val Verde County Commissioners Court is asked to acquire two right of way strips for state paving. One on Highway No 3 runs from 2.2 miles east of the Pecos River to 1.6 miles west of it. The other on the Del Rio to Eagle Pass road spans 10 miles southeast of Del Rio to the Val Verde Kinney county line, a four mile segment to be paved. The court will consider these projects on Monday.
Austin with Attorney General William McCraw invalidates the Railroad Commission order suspending exceptions to general oil well spacing rules. The commission had announced permit applications under exceptions would be held in abeyance pending a Supreme Court rehearing in the ruling on rule validity.
Next Tuesday W F Jourdan county superintendent will attend the San Antonio meeting of school officials and boards on August 13 at 9 30 in the municipal auditorium. L A Woods state superintendent invites county trustees principals and teachers of Val Verde County to join the program to improve cooperation among county and independent district leaders and the State Department of Education. Woods C M Elwell and S O Murdock will speak subjects include school classifications standardization laws transport and high school tuition with an afternoon focus on state music and vocational education.

Four automobiles were registered in the tax assessor collector's office yesterday. Three were registered by Del Rio residents. The vehicles listed include P. H. McNutt of Comstock Morris Coffman Brinkley Rowlett Lumber Company and S E Petersen of Del Rio.
In Brownsville on August 9 Cecil 9 and Marilyn 6 children of Mr and Mrs C C Schubert drowned while crossing a small canal two miles from town. Cecil tried to carry his sister when he stepped into deep water and they were lost.

Mexican National Railways will extend their line from San Carlos to Villa Acuna, announced by Daniel M. Macias, Mexican consul at Del Rio, on Thursday night. The Villa Acuna Chamber of Commerce delegation, including Rivera and Gonzalez, was in Del Rio for the statement.

The broken body of William Brode 15 of Memphis Tennessee was found at Lindbergh Peak after a fatal fall. Searchers carried the body over slick trails to Monarch Lake where his parents Mr and Mrs Julian Brode waited. A mountain climber from Houston said Brode died instantly from the fall and that his shoes were torn off in the descent.
Mrs May Carpenter sues in Fort Worth district court to restrain Ed Carpenter from associating with Mae Simmons. Judge Power grants a temporary injunction and schedules a hearing for August 14 to decide on a permanent injunction. The petition claims Simmons has drawn Carpenter away from his family and home.
