Corpus Christi August 3 Rod McCracken Caller columnist taunts publishing rivals over collars and neckties in hot weather politics. Pallbearers include John Lochabay, A. L. Harms, Jo Travelstead, W. W. Gaines, W. C. Hodge and I. F. Burditt.
Three Pullman cars and a diner on a Southern Pacific train carrying mid Western tourists derailed near Yamaey in Klamath Falls Oregon. Three people were seriously injured. no fatalities reported.

Stanfield then left for Huntsville to begin his life sentence after a Saturday jury verdict.
Government estimates place the U S lamb crop at 90 712 000 head for 1937 with Texas at 4 158 000 head and a 77 percent yield on 5 4 000 000 breeding ewes. Western states show varied fall deliveries while Montana Wyoming Colorado Arizona and Nevada report strong percentages of breeding ewes and lambs totals across regions.

Mr and Mrs J A Forman returned Sunday from Flatonia where they attended funeral services Saturday at 10 o clock for H F Burns about 64 a cousin of Mrs Forman He died Thursday in Dalhart He was employed by the Southern Pacific Railroad and had worked in Del Rio for about two years as tonnage clerk He was on leave of absence at the time of his death attributed to a heart attack.

Del Rio Fire Department was called to 308 East Fourth Street Monday at 12 15 PM. The Wilson Estate barn burned completely while the nearby house occupied by Mrs. B R Wilson was saved. waste paper burning near the structure caused the blaze. Fire Chief Frank J Schmidt said the second building was charred but saved from further damage.
